Rohit Sāwant’s fiction has been featured in various publications, most recently in Weirdbook #40 and the anthologies On Fire, Down with the Fallen and elsewhere.
Growing up, he consumed a diet of comic books and films but read novels sparingly, only falling in love with books in his late teens when he picked up Four past Midnight by Stephen King and has been hooked on reading since.
Despite being a late-blooming bookworm, he was always drawn to storytelling. His first attempt at fiction was a whodunit, scribbled at eight in a school notebook after watching Alfred Hitchcock Presents with his cousins. He showed it to his teacher. He remembers little except her initial interest turning to mild alarm as she read it. That was a good day.
After getting a bachelor’s degree in Animation and Computer graphics, he worked as a CG artist on animated features at Prana Studios, Inc.
Presently, he lives in Mumbai, India and works as a freelance artist and writer. He enjoys sketching, films, and his favorite Batman is Kevin Conroy.
